NHIAA Golf: BG, Windham, Bow, Derryfield tops

Bishop Guertin of Nashua captured the NHIAA Division I Golf Championship by two strokes over Bedford Thursday at the Canterbury Woods Country Club in Canterbury.

Bishop Guertin, led by Andrew Mierzwa (tied for sixth, five-over 77), Ryan Montbleau (tied for ninth, six-over 78) and Tom Ethier (tied for 19th, nine-over 81), managed to topple the runner-up Bulldogs, 403 to 405.

Justin Clutter led Bedford with a four-over 76, good for fourth place overall.

The low 24 individuals will play an additional 18 holes Saturday at Canterbury Woods to determine the Division I NHIAA Individual Champion. The co-leaders are Matt Paradis of Manchester Central and Brandon Gillis of Nashua North, who both shot 74.

It was a different story at Beaver Meadow in Concord where Windham captured the Division II title by a comfortable 12-stroke margin. The Jaguars, behind medalist Connor Greenleaf (one-under 73) and sixth place finisher James McKee (78), toppled runner-up St. Thomas Aquinas of Dover, 395 to 407.

In the Division III tournament at Ridgewood CC in Moultonborough, Bow won easily with a 301 score. Pelham was second at 337.

Josh Lacasse of Bow is the medalist at 70, one stroke ahead of Jake Vaiknoras.

Derryfield won the Division IV title by a comfortable margin, 320 to 342 over runner-up Newport at the Ridgewood CC.
