DERRY — It took a late touchdown and then some extra effort, but the top-ranked Concord High School football team remained unbeaten Friday night by beating No. 4 Pinkerton Academy of Derry 21-14 in overtime.

Running back Walters Ndi scored on a 2-yard fourth-down run on Concord's overtime possession. After Kevin Condict added the point-after kick, the Concord defense held Pinkerton out of the end zone on its possession.

Three Manny Latimore runs left Pinkerton with a fourth-and-goal from the 11, and Jack Hanaway's fourth-down pass was deflected and fell incomplete.

Concord improved its record to 6-0. Pinkerton dropped to 4-2.

Latimore finished the game with 173 yards and a TD on 21 carries. Ndi rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 22 attempts.

Pinkerton took a 14-6 lead on Nick Liporto's 1-yard run and Kyle Cantalupo's point-after kick with 11:04 to play. The Astros hung on to that eight-point advantage until Concord's final possession of the fourth quarter.

The Crimson Tide took over on its own 24 with 2:28 to play, and scored eight plays later. The TD came on a 13-yard pass from quarterback Robbie Law to Walter Szulc on a fourth-and-eight play with 51.1 seconds left. Law found room around right end and ran in the two-point conversion that tied the game.

The other key play in Concord's scoring drive was a 50-yard pass from Law to Szulc that moved the ball to the Pinkerton 15.
Pinkerton drove 99 yards in nine plays and took a 7-0 lead on its opening possession. Latimore capped the drive with a 52-yard touchdown run with 16 seconds left in the first quarter. Latimore carried the ball four times for 63 yards in the drive.

Concord answered on the ensuing possession when Ndi scored on a 26-yard run with 10:48 remaining in the half. Condict's PAT failed, which left the Astros with a one-point lead.

The only other scoring threat in the first half came when Cantalupo's 38-yard field goal attempt fell short with 6.8 seconds left in the second quarter.
