HUDSON — A popular fundraiser will celebrate all things Halloween this weekend.

This Friday marks the kickoff of the fifth annual Hudson Pumpkin Fest. Held on the grounds of the historic Hill House on Route 102, the three-day event will raise money for the local Kiwanis Club.

Throughout the weekend, rain or shine, fair-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy a full carnival, crafts vendors, fireworks, children’s activities, music and, of course, plenty of pumpkins set aglow.

According to event organizer Mike Falzone, Hudson’s Pumpkin Fest was modeled after the more famous festival in Keene. Falzone said the event continues to grow in popularity each fall. Last year, thousands of people visited the festival each day.

A large outdoor craft fair will take place on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Among the weekend’s musical performers are Studio Two A, a Beatles tribute band; the Bel Airs, a doo-wop group from New Hampshire; the Rock Daddies; and the Campbell High School jazz band.

A classic car show will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a fireworks show to immediately follow.

Children ages 10 and under can trick-or-treat at the festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Working displays from the Alvirne High School agriculture program, a petting zoo, cow pie bingo, pony rides, community organizations and lessons in Halloween safety will round out the weekend’s festivities.
