Man faces new indictments in fatal boating incident on Northwood Lake
BRENTWOOD — A grand jury has issued two new indictments against a Hooksett boater charged with negligent homicide for allegedly causing a friend to fall out of his boat and die on Northwood Lake last July.
Eric Cable, 34, was indicted on two new counts of negligent homicide in Rockingham County Superior Court, according to court documents.
The new indictments accuse Cable of carrying out a turning maneuver into the wake of another boat, which caused his passenger Brendan Yerry, 28, of Hudson to fall out of the boat and suffer fatal injuries.
Prosecutors say Cable was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Yerry died after being stuck by the boat’s drive and propeller piloted by Cable, according to prosecutors.
The latest indictments come as Cable awaits a judge’s decision about whether his statements to investigators and blood-alcohol results can be used by prosecutors during his trial in December.
