NHIAA Roundup: Binogono goals lead Central past Timberlane

Sam Binogono scored two goals and added an assist to lead Manchester Central to a 5-0 win over Timberlane of Plaistow in boys' soccer action Friday in Manchester.

Anuj Khadka, Blaise Mesumbuko and Austin Camberis added solo tallies for Central, which improved to 12-2. David Gagnon made two saves in the shutout. Timberlane fell to 7-7.

Boys' soccer

Hopkinton 7, Mascenic 1: At Hopkinton, Zach Rouleau scored three goals and added an assist, all in the first 13 minutes of the game.

Liam McNicholas, Doug Fleury and Brian Hauschild chipped in with goals for the Hawks (13-0-1). Jared Nolid scored for Mascenic of New Ipswich.
Somersworth 3, Campbell 2: Zach Campbell scored an unassisted goal with 35 seconds to play to lift the Toppers at Somersworth on Friday. Hunter Michaud and Gabrielle Alastro had the other Somersworth goals. Jonathan Donaghey and Connor Cote scored for Campbell of Litchfield. Somersworth's Felix Nyquist and Campbell's Andrew Picard each made seven saves.




Lebanon 3, Goffstown 0: At Lebanon, Jeff Purdy, Austin Whaley and Ryan Servant scored first-half goals to lead the way. Lebanon is now 11-3. Kenny Weitzman made two saves for the shutout.




Souhegan 6, Milford 1: At Milford, Devan Casey scored three goals for the Sabers (7-7) and Jasper Jones, Josh Anson and Andy Peters notched a goal each. Jimmy Jepson scored for Milford (0-13-1).




Derryfield 2, Wilton-Lyndeborough 0: At Manchester, Tyler Zorn and Jared Schoenberger scored the goals for the hosts. Tommy Cissell made four saves in the shutout. Derryfield is now 12-1-1. Wilton fell to 10-4.
Girls' soccer

Derryfield 5, Wilton-Lyndeborough 2: At Manchester, host Derryfield School improved to 12-1. Freshman Gabi Brummett scored two goals and added an assist, and Kelly Collins, Emma Garfield and Emma Polgrean added single goals for Derryfield. Wilton (9-4) got goals from Lorie Blais and Sophie Levert.
Epping 2, Pittsfield 0: Jessica Gosselin and Madeline Marchisio scored for Epping (7-7) on Friday. Kayla Macleod had nine saves.




Goffstown 1, Lebanon 1: At Goffstown, Nicole Nanof scored late in the second half for Goffstown (8-2-3) to tie the game. Jill Dion had the Lebanon (4-7-4) goal.




Inter-Lakes 8, Laconia 0: At Laconia, Caitlin Rotonnelli scored six goals for the Lakers. Kaylee Converse and Daniele Boucher recored the other two goals.




Hollis/Brookline 4, ConVal 3: At Peterborough, Hollis/Brookline came back several times to earn the win as Sarah Mauser's game-winning goal gave her a hat trick. ConVal (6-8) jumped to an early lead with goals by Zoe Paige and Jordan Kania. Mauser countered less than a minute later to put H/B (8-5) back in the game.
Hannah Modelski tied the game and Mauser gave H/B its first lead. ConVal tied the game again with a late penalty kick.

Bedford 3, Keene 1: On Thursday in Bedford, Christina Campbell, Asha Steele and Seanna Gosselin scored for the Bulldogs (10-2-2). Keene's goal came from Emily Zweirzchawski.

Field hockey

Pinkerton 2, Exeter 0: At Exeter, Julie Saltamartini scored a goal and Amanda Szostak tallied the other for the Astros (13-1). Jordan Dudley made five saves for the shutout. Exeter fell to 10-3-1.

Volleyball

Hillsboro-Deering 3, Stevens 0: At Hillsborough, the hosts won by scores of 25-3, 25-13 and 25-5. Hannah Pepper had five aces and two kills and Emily Hatcher added four kills for HD.




Newfound 3, Epping 1: At Newfound, the hosts won by scores of 27-25, 11-25, 25-11 and 25-22. Epping was led by Eliza Kucera with four aces, eight kills and seven digs.




Goffstown 3, Manchester Central 0: At Goffstown, the Grizzlies improved to 10-6 with wins of 25-7, 25-17 and 25-16. Goffstown was led by seniors Kelsey Conway (six kills, five digs), Molly Fanning (six digs, two aces), Live Odell (four kills, two aces), Kendra Siemiesz (11 assists, two aces) and Jess Williamson (three kills, seven digs). Central (0-16) was paced by Alex Nelson (two kills, four assists). The Grizzlies are now 8-3-2.




Campbell 3, John Stark 0: At Litchfield, Campbell improved to 12-2 while Stark of Weare fell to 8-6. Brianna Hardy had eight kills, 10 digs and two blocks for Campbell.




Londonderry 3, Nashua South 2: At Londonderry, the Lancers (4-12) pulled out a win on senior night. Seniors Madison Milton (12 kills), Emily Georgakopoulos (24 assists) and Taylor Fitton (15 digs) led Londonderry.




Bedford 3, Keene 0: On Thursday in Bedford, the host Bulldogs improved to 12-4 with a straigth sets win. Elizabeth Eby had three aces and five assists.
