NHIAA Roundup: Two hat tricks power Central boys

Blaise Mesumbuko and Sam Binogono both recorded hat tricks to lead the Central boys’ soccer team past visiting Dover, 7-1, Monday.

The Little Green improved to 13-2, winning their 13th straight.

Justin Reno scored the other goal and Mesumbuko added an assist. Central goalkeeper David Gagnon made two saves in the win. Dover got its goal from Ayalew Binette late in the game.
Pembroke 6, Manchester West 1: At Pembroke, Austin Sartwell and Justus Turk scored two goals each and Jeremy Caruso and Aaron Locke added single tallies to pace the hosts. Nick Lawrence scored in the 79th minute for West.
Hillsboro-Deering 0, Fall Mountain 0: On Saturday in Hillsborough, goalies Dylan Mix of Fall Mountain (four saves) and Connor Lane of Hillsboro-Deering (six saves) kept their opponents off the scoreboard.
Hollis/Brookline 1, ConVal 0: On Saturday, Sam Whitaker scored midway through the first half on an assist from Cole Owens. Michael Pattelena had three saves for the win. Hollis/Brookline improved to 12-2 led by efforts from Ben Lombardi, Jack Barbour, Nate Rocco and Matt Claire.

Girls’ soccer

Pembroke 5, Manchester West 0: Pembroke improved to 9-6 led by goals from Celia Sartwell, Lexi Duclos, and Emilee Harlow. Assists were registered by Emma Foss and Maddie Bardier. Kristin Kezar had the shutout win in nets.
Pinkerton 2, Concord 1: At Southern New Hampshire University, Mel Roberge scored a first-half goal for Pinkerton and Katyann Grochmal scored the game winner at the 48:25 mark. Erica Parent and Julie Murray each had an assist for the Astros. Pinkerton goalie Sammy Mitchell had eight saves.
Hollis/Brookline 2, Oyster River 1: At Durham, the Cavaliers (9-5) survived a road game at Oyster River (6-7-1) thanks to goals from Sarah Mauser and Hannah Modelski.
Trinity 3, St. Thomas 1: At Manchester, Trinity of improved to 5-9-0 with the win win over visiting St. Thomas of Dover.

Trinity led 3-0 on goals from Hannah Brewitt, Kendal Elithorpe (who assisted on Brewitt’s goal) and Ashley Brenner. St. Thomas (5-9-0) scored in the 84th minute on a penalty kick goal from Shanley King.

Trinity junior goalkeeper Jenna Arcand made four saves. Kelliann Banaian made six saves for STA.
Hopkinton 1, Hillsboro-Deering 0: On Saturday, Hopkinton scored 14 minutes into the game. Sarah Ingalls and Breahna Savoy anchored the defense for Hillsboro-Deering. In the loss, keeper Emma Moore had 14 saves.

Volleyball

Dover 3, Pinkerton 0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-23): In Derry, Lexie Verreault had 16 digs for the Astros. Molly Wotten led Dover with 12 kills and teammate MacKenzie Geppert added 22 assists.
Campbell 3, Trinity 1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-15): At Manchester, Jessica Tremblay (10 service points), Kayla Tremblay (six blocks) and Amanda Cole (22 assists) led Trinity.
Epping 3, Portsmouth Christian 1 (25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15): At Dover, Epping improved to 7-7, led by Eliza Kucera (seven 7 aces, seven kills, 10 digs), Katie Pettis (19 digs) and Olivia Goodrich (11 digs, five kills, 20 assists).
Campbell 3. John Stark 0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-11): On Saturday, Brianna Hardy (8 kills, 10 digs, 2 blocks), Alex Trevains (7 kills, 1 block, 11 service points, 7 aces), Olivia Martinage (6 kills, 1 block) and Sophie Scafidi (16 assists) each led the 12-2 Cougars. John Stark is 8-6.
Merrimack 3, Nashua North 1 (24-26, 25-11, 25-16, 25-15): Merrimack was led by Jen Coffey (20 kills, 3 blocks and 13 digs), Jo Coffey (22 service points, 18 digs and 43 assists), Christie Roy (4 blocks, 10 digs and 13 kills), Elise Jolly (5 blocks, 7 digs and 11 kills) and Caitlyn Paulson (17 service points and 14 digs).
