New England's Amendola says he's ready to play

New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola said he is ready to play Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins after passing concussion tests this week.

Amendola has been out since sustaining the concussion Oct. 13 against the New Orleans Saints. He returned to practice this week.

The decision to play him has not been decided yet, but Amendola believes he is ready.

“I’ve done pretty much everything they’ve asked me to do,” he said Friday. “I’m healthy and I’m ready to play.

“I’m sure it’s the same thing if you get (in) a car accident. It’s all independent doctors. The NFL does a great job of helping guys out with that sort of thing. It’s been a big deal in the past three years; you just have to go through (the process) and listen to what they’re telling you.”

He said it is the second concussion he has had since he entered the NFL in 2008.

“I’ve had one concussion in the NFL prior to this, it was a long time ago, so there is no aftermath of it,” he said. “I don’t feel any symptoms or anything. I feel really good.”

He is listed as questionable on the team’s injury report.

Amendola also missed time with a groin injury. For the season, he has 16 catches for 159 yards in three games.
