Sox win 4-2, World Series tied 2-2.

Boston's sixth-inning rally began with two out. Dustin Pedroia singled to center and David Ortiz walked. St. Louis replaced starter Lance Lynn with Seth Maness to face Gomes. Gomes deposited a two-ball, two-strike sinker into the bullpen in left field to give Boston a 4-1 lead.
St. Louis got one back in the bottom of the seventh when pinch-hitter Shane Robinson singled off Felix Doubront and took second when Gomes bobbled the ball. Boston manager John Farrell summoned Craig Breslow, who gave up an RBI single to Matt Carpenter. After a walk to Carlos Beltran, Boston brough in Junichi Tazawa, who ended the inning by retiring Matt Holliday on a groundout to second.
St. Louis opened the scoring in the third. Carpenter singled to center and advanced to second on Jacoby Ellsbury's bobble. Beltran scored him with a single to right center.

Sox starter Clay Buchholz, whose status was uncertain, pitched four solid innings for Boston. Despite not having anything close to his best fastball, he located well and changed speeds and allowed only three hits and one unearned run. He struck out three and walked two.
Lynn went 5 2/3 innings for St. Louis. He was charged with three runs, all earned, on three hits. He walked three and struck out five.
