Crash leaves Hudson area without power

HUDSON — Police are investigating an accident where a car struck a utility pole early Sunday in Hudson, causing a power outage in the area.

Hudson police say a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Kylee Boucher, 22, of Hudson drove off Barretts Hill Road at 12:08 a.m. and sheared a utility pole. The crash caused the utility pole to break at its base, knocking out power in the area. A section of Barretts Hill Road was closed as Public Service of New Hampshire crews worked to restore power.

Power remained out to the area for much of Sunday morning, though officials reported most, if not all, customers were back online by 3 p.m.

Boucher was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hudson police. Sgt. Michael Gosselin could not comment on whether alcohol or fatigue appear to be factors.
