Portsmouth man convicted of sexual assault

BRENTWOOD - A jury on Friday convicted a Portsmouth man of sexually assaulting a mentally disabled woman last November.

Paul Fierley, 51, was convicted of three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault after a three-day trial in Rockingham County Superior Court.

Judge Marguerite Wageling will sentence Fierley after probation officials submit a pre-sentence investigation.

Fierley is facing 10 to 20 years in state prison on each of the three charges. He is being held at the Rockingham County jail in Brentwood.

He was arrested Feb. 11 after fleeing from New Hampshire while under investigation.

The U.S. Marshals Service found Fierley in Canaan, Maine.- James A. Kimble,Union Leader Correspondent
