NH to receive $612,000 bonus for food stamp program
CONCORD — New Hampshire is getting a $612,000 ‘‘high performance bonus’’ in recognition of the way it administers the food stamp program.
The USDA Food and Nutrition Service is rewarding the state as the sixth-best in the country at ensuring people are not incorrectly closed or denied food stamp benefits.
The state Department of Health and Human Services has won food stamp bonuses 10 times in the past 10 years, for a total amount of $3.1 million.
Gov. Maggie Hassan and Health Department Commissioner Nicholas Toumpas will receive the bonus today at the State House.
