Task force tracks fugitive to Somersworth apartment

Nicholas Emond

CONCORD — This week's Fugitive of the Week was arrested Friday in Somerworth by members of the U.S. Marshals – N.H. Joint Fugitive Task Force, and the Maine Violent Offenders Task Force.

Nicholas Emond, a 27-year-old whose last known addresses were in both Maine and New Hampshire, was being sought on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the U.S. District Court in Portland, Maine. This arrest warrant was issued for supervised-release violations stemming from an original conviction and sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Information provided by tipsters indicated that Emond was living in an apartment on Winter Street in Somersworth. This information was further developed by the U.S. Marshals Service, which ultimately led to his arrest. Emond did not respond to knocks at the apartment door and entry was forced by law enforcement. Emond was quickly located and arrested without further incident.

Emond was transported directly to the U.S. District Courthouse in Portland, Maine, where he was to be processed and charged on his outstanding warrant.

Numerous members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Forces participated in this investigation and arrest, including members from the Eliot, Maine, and Biddeford, Maine, police departments, Maine State Police, Somersworth Police, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, along with deputy U.S. Marshals.
