College Sports Roundup: Dartmouth men's hockey loses again, in OT
St. Anselm 3, Nichols 0: Freshman Alison Quinn scored twice to lift the St. Anselm women's hockey team past Nichols at Sullivan Arena.
Andi Foss added the other goal, and Courtney Winters assisted all three markers for the Hawks (4-1-0, 2-0-0 in ECAC East). Junior goalie Lindsey Brown made 10 saves for the shutout. St. Anselm outshot Nichols, 52-10.
Keene State 89, Green Mountain 36: Junior Courtney Roberts led a balanced attack with 14 points as the Owls rolled Friday in a first-round game of the 18th annual KSC Tip-Off Tournament. KSC will play the winner of Friday night's game between Endicott and Mass College of Liberal Arts in today's 3 p.m. championship.
Plymouth State 76, St. Joseph College (Long Island) 58: Junior Alex Burt, of Dover, scored 19 points to lead Plymouth State to a victory in Friday's opening game of the Rick Martin/Holiday Inn Express Men's Basketball Classic at Westfield (Mass.) State. Bishop Guertin of Nashua product Logan Kesty added 11 points and Berlin's Curtis Arsenault popped in nine. Manchester Memorial grad Shomari Morgan scored seven points for PSU.
Abbey D'Agostino's amazing string of success continued on Friday in the Northeast Regional meet at Van Cortland Park. D'Agostino, a Dartmouth College senior, won the meet for a third straight time, in 19:48, 11 seconds faster than runnerup Emily Sisson of Providence College. D'Agostino has yet to lose a race this fall. Her effort helped the Big Green to second place (84 points, behind Providence's 44) and a spot in next weekend's NCAA's at Indiana State. UNH took ninth, with 250 points. Placing 24th was Heidi Caldwell of Hanover, a junior at Brown.
New Haven 3, SNHU 0: The Penmen closed out their season 12-12 (7-7 in the Northeast-10) after the 25-16, 25-15, 25-18 loss in Connecticut. Ashlee Daoust, of Brookline, totaled seven kills and nine digs for SNHU.
