Lilac photo contest calendar available

CONCORD — The Governor's Lilac and Wildflower Commission has published its 2014 calendar featuring the winning entries in this year's Lilac Photo Contest.

The limited-edition, 14-month calendar costs $5 plus $3 shipping per calendar.

Checks payable to "Granite State FFA Lilac Fund" should be mailed to: Governors Lilac and Wildflower Commission, P O Box 21, Sanbornton, NH 03269-0021.

Portsmouth Garden Club Festival of Trees

PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Garden Club and the state Division of Forests and Lands' Urban Forestry Center will be presenting their 20th Festival of Trees at the center, 45 Elwyn Road, from Nov. 22 through 24.

The grounds and buildings of the Urban Forestry Center will be transformed by local garden centers, garden clubs, historic homes organizations, businesses and artisans, and will feature more than 90 displays of decorated indoor trees, rooms decked out for the holidays in the historic Cape House, and outside displays, including a G Scale train display.

Adult admission is $5; children 12 and under are admitted free. The Festival will be open Friday, Nov. 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m. For more information visit www.Portsmouthnhgardenclub.com or call the center at 431-6774.
