MANCHESTER — Winter parking regulations go into effect on Dec. 1, meaning cars parked overnight on city streets must be moved to the other side of the street every night, city officials said.
Cars must park overnight on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd numbered days, and the even-numbered side of the street on even-numbered days.
The restriction runs from 1 to 6 a.m., so when a driver parks his car in the evening of an odd-numbered day, he should park on the even-numbered side of the street, the city said.
Violations result in a $25 fine, and cars parked during snow emergencies can be towed. Owners will need $110 to retrieve a towed car.
Snow emergency parking is available at the Victory Parking Garage for free. But vehicles parked before 10 p.m. or leaving after 6 a.m. will be subject to parking fees of 75 cents an hour.
The Pearl Street parking lot is available 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., but cars parked outside of those hours will be subject to parking tickets.
