CONCORD – Concord police are investigating a violent attempted abduction of a 19-year-old woman from a backyard in a neighborhood in the vicinity of Curtice Avenue Tuesday about 5 p.m.
The woman reported to police that she was sitting on a back deck when a man walked onto the deck and attacked her. The victim said the man pinned her to the deck and repeatedly smashed her face into the deck.
The victim reported that the man attempted to drag her off the deck toward a tree line, but she was able to fight him off and get to a neighboring home. She suffered injuries during the attack and was treated by Concord Fire Department at the scene. The man fled the area using the railroad tracks which run along the west side of the Merrimack River, police said.
The assailant is described as a white male, possibly in his 40's, about 5-foot-11 with a medium build, long dark hair which covered his eyes at one point. He was wearing a dark-colored knit-hat, a tan Carhartt-style jacket, and ripped blue jeans. He was described as having a large nose and little or no facial hair. The woman also described the man as being "very dirty."
Based on the victim's description, a sketch of the suspect was generated and is being released to the public.
