Driver stopped in Manchester, arrested for drug possession

MANCHESTER -  A 49-year-old Hooksett man was arrested Tuesday after police stopped his car on Elm Street and discovered plastic baggies filled with suspected cocaine.
Peter Place was stopped at around 8 p.m. on Elm near Hanover Street by police officers for a motor vehicle offense. Place had an active bench warrant for failure to appear on a previous DWI charge and was arrested. While one of the officers searched Place, he found several clear, plastic baggies, two of them filled with what police believed to be cocaine. Police said two other bags had already been opened and contained trace amounts of the same substance.
Place was charged with a felony of possession of a narcotic drug.
