NH College Roundup: Bentley women beat SNHU

Lauren Battista totaled 18 points to lead No. 1 Bentley University to a 71-42 victory over Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 women’s basketball Tuesday night in Waltham, Mass.

Battista led three Falcons (7-0, 4-0 NE-10) in double figures. Courtney Finn finished with 12 points while Jen Gemma tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

SNHU (4-2, 2-1 NE-10) was led by sophomore Amra Elezovic, of Manchester, who knocked down a pair of three-pointers and finished with 14 points. Classmate Bianca Langford (Worcester, Mass.) registered eight points.Castleton State 64, Plymouth State 32: At Plymouth, Liz Douglass scored a team-high 12 points to lead the Spartans while classmates Heather Murdough, of Hillsboro, and Alyssa Leonard added 10 points apiece.

Freshman Rosalie Edmonds, of Goffstown, led the Panthers with 12 points. Junior Tiffany Lewis, of Hillsboro, and sophomore Bry Bennett, of Lancaster, had four points apiece.

Men’s basketball

Rivier 67, New England College 63: At Henniker, Rivier’s Nick Walch recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, leading the Raiders.

Rivier’s Jake Nelson, of Nashua, finished with a game-high 23 points on 8-for-13 shooting. Tom Poitras, of Bow, had 16 points for Rivier (3-2).

Leading the way for NEC (2-2) was Dezron Wilson who finished with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds. NEC’s Jonathan Byrnes chipped in 12 points, while Ryan Schmitz finished the game with 11 points.
