MANCHESTER — Thinking about purchasing an electric vehicle? The state’s largest electric utility hopes consumers will call in before they plug in.
As use of electric vehicles grows across the country, Public Service of New Hampshire is giving customers a new resource to find information. Beginning today, the company has launched a new information center to help customers understand electric vehicle technology and ask questions of those in the field.
“We’re excited about the launch of our new electric vehicle information hotline to offer customers expert service, information and guidance about electric vehicles and vehicle charging options,” said Penni Conner, senior vice president and chief customer officer at Northeast Utilities, PSNH’s parent company. “PSNH is providing a single point of contact for our customers and communities, making it easy for them to find the answers they need to make informed decisions about electric vehicles.”
By calling the PSNH hotline at 855-INFO4EV (855-463-6438), consumers can access information and get advice about vehicles and related equipment, payment options, proper placement of charging equipment, and best industry practices. Operators staffing the information center will also provide cost estimates for operating and charging electric vehicles, and offer referrals to other companies for additional information.
Starting today, PSNH’s electric vehicle information center hotline will be staffed by a team of specialists Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The company also offers a website where customers can access information at http://www.http//plugmyride.org.
