Hollis man charged with DWI after fiery Brookline crash

BROOKLINE - A Hollis man is facing an aggravated DWI charge after state police found his crashed car on fire on Scripts Road early Sunday morning.

Daniel Lewis, 24, escaped the car and was not injured, according to state police. However, police said he was intoxicated and was charged with aggravated DWI.

The crash happened about 1:40 a.m. at Mason and Scripts roads.

Brookline firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the car was destroyed.

Lewis was the sole occupant.

Lewis posted bail and will be arraigned in January in 9th Circuit Court, Milford District Division.
