Feeling Scrooge-ish? Just visit the Festival of Trees
“It is hard to leave here without being in the holiday spirit,” said Kathy Smith, administrator of the building.
All this week, the building’s first-ever Festival of Trees is taking place, and the public is encouraged to stop inside and enjoy the beautifully adorned Christmas trees.
Various businesses and local organizations volunteered to donate and decorate artificial trees for the event, which is serving as a fundraiser for the building’s ongoing restoration project.Among the most unique trees now on display is a tree from the Nashua Police Department that is decked out in crime scene tape and highlighted with a police siren on the top.
Bellavance agreed, adding the Festival of Trees and the city’s holiday tree standing just outside of the Hunt Memorial Building set the ideal scene for the holiday season.
All proceeds from the event will be used to help restore the city-owned Hunt Memorial Building, specifically by improving the front entrance doors to the facility at 6 Main St.The 1903 building has been beautifully refurbished, as it previously underwent more than $1 million in renovations.
