EXETER — A drug sweep this week netted four people police suspected of selling heroin and oxycodone in Exeter.
Exeter police detectives conducted the sweep Monday night into Tuesday with assistance from police in Kingston, Hampton and Sandown.
Those charged were Jordan Rego, 21, of Kingston, with four felony counts of the sale of a controlled drug (heroin); Charles Nutter, 20, of Sandown, one felony count of the sale of a controlled drug (oxycodone); Scott Andrews, 19, of Hampton, one felony count of the sale of a controlled drug (heroin); and Benjamin Schea, 26, of Kingston, felony count of the sale of a controlled drug (heroin).
Andrews was allegedly found with marijuana when he was arrested in Hampton. Hampton police charged him with a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled drug.
The four were each released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and are scheduled to appear in 10th Circuit Court, Brentwood District Division, on Jan. 14.
Exeter police Capt. Stephan Poulin said police began investigating the four men in early summer.
"Aggressive drug investigations are a priority with the Exeter Police Department. They're traveling to deal and they're coming into Exeter to deal. All of these are nonresidents," Poulin said.
The four men could face additional charges, and more arrests could be made, Poulin said.
