CLAREMONT — Police are asking the public for any information about a homeless man who died recently.
Matthew M. Harriman, 49, was found deceased in the area of his city campsite Tuesday, police said in a press release.
Police went to the area of Maple Avenue where Harriman was known to camp Tuesday after receiving reports from friends and family members of Harriman that he had not been heard from in several days.
When officers found the campsite Harriman was not in his tent. The officers then searched the area around the camp site and found him lying deceased in the snow.
The N.H. Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene and the cause of death is under investigation.
“Preliminary investigation does not reveal that Harriman’s death is suspicious. Exposure to the elements was likely a contributing factor,” police said.
Anyone who may have been with or seen Harriman between Friday and Saturday is encouraged to call police at 542-9538.
