Manchester’s Grauslys swims in nationals

The meet, held December 12-15, featured the most elite swimmers, 18 and under, in the country. His meet was highlighted by his fifth-place finish in the 200 yard butterfly. Going in number 26, he improved his place to racing in the championship final, swimming a 1:47.09, and dropping 2.5 seconds from his previous best. He also competed in the 100 yard butterfly, improving his seed by over 20 spots, swimming the event in 49.12 seconds.

Grauslys, a Manchester Memorial junior, also competed in the 200 yard freestyle (1:42.53) event during the meet, and time trialed the 200 meter butterfly event on the final day of the meet, finishing in 2:02.93, a U.S Open qualifying time, and one that ranks him among the top in the nation for his age group.

Grauslys will next compete in the New England Senior Championships, held at Worcester Polytechnic Institute this weekend with his teammates. He trains at the Executive Swim Club in Manchester.
