High School Roundup: Bishop Guertin boys edge Bedford in overtime thriller

Bishop Guertin guard C.J. Boykin sent the game into overtime by hitting a 3-pointer with five seconds remaining in regulation, and the Cardinals went on to a 69-66 overtime victory over Bedford on Monday in Nashua in Division I boys' basketball action.

BG raised its record to 2-0. Bedford slipped to 0-2.

Boykin led all scorers with 21 points, including two 3-pointers in the final 46 seconds. Freshman Colby Gendron led Bedford with 23 points, including five 3-pointers.Exeter 81, Dover 32: At Exeter, guard Bryant Holmes tossed in five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 21 points as Exeter improved to 2-0 in Division I.

Pembroke Academy 89, John Stark 35: At Pembroke, Pat Welch scored 31 points and collected nine rebounds as the Spartans improved to 3-0 in Division II. Kafani Williams added 22 points and eight rebounds for Pembroke. Egan Nickerson led John Stark with 11.


Central Catholic 59, Pinkerton 33: In the Commonwealth Christmas Tournament at Merrimack College, Marissa Stacy scored 10 points for the Astros (1-1). Colleen Fortier played well on defense.
Spaulding 63, Timberlane 17: Emily Benway's 22 points and Dannon McGarity's 13 led Spaulding.
