Men's Hockey: UNH drops Florida tournament opener to Cornell

Jeff Silengo and Justin Agosta scored goals but the University of New Hampshire came out on the short end of a 4-2 loss to Cornell on Saturday in opening night play of the Florida College Hockey Classic in Estero, Fla.

The Wildcats will play Princeton on Sunday in the tournament consolation game at 4 p.m. The Tigers fell 4-0 to Maine earlier Saturday.

Silengo's first period goal got the 'Cats off to a 1-0 lead but Cornell scored three straight, from captain John McCarron in the first period, and from Joakim Ryan and Brian Ferlin in the second period, to make it 3-1.

Agosta scored early in the third to give UNH hope, but Joel Lowry's empty-netter in the final minute sealed the win for the Big Red.
