Monadnock Food Co-op to hold informational event on GMOs

KEENE — With a state Legislature vote approaching on whether it should be mandatory to label food from Genetically Modified Organisms, Monadnock Food Co-op has organized an informational event for the community about GMOs.

GMOs: What’s in Our Food? will be held at the Colonial Theatre on Main Street on Jan. 12, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The event brings together 14 regional and state businesses and nonprofits for a discussion about Genetically Modified Organisms or GMOs. Gary Hirshberg, Chair of Stonyfield Farm and the Just Label It campaign, is the keynote speaker.

The Just Label It campaign is a national coalition of more than 650 organizations dedicated to bringing about mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods in the United States.
