Police say Lancaster man's punch led to 57-year-old's death

LANCASTER — A man who allegedly caused the death of another man when he punched him in the face on New Year’s Eve was arraigned Thursday on charges of manslaughter and negligent homicide, Coos County Attorney John McCormick said.

Steven Dupont, 47, of Lancaster, is accused of punching John Kenney, 57, of Lancaster, in the face on Tuesday night. McCormick said the punch caused Kenney to fall and strike his head on a floor, causing his death.

Dupont was arraigned Thursday in Lancaster District Court.

He was being held Thursday in West Stewartstown Jail on $100,000 bail, McCormick said.
