St. Anselm men can’t get past Philadelphia

Peter Alexis had game-highs of 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead host Philadelphia University to an 81-73 men’s basketball victory against St. Anselm College in a non-conference contest Thursday at the Gallagher Center.

The Hawks, who entered the contest winners of six of their last seven, dip to 7-4 overall, while the Rams improve to 9-4.

Junior Roy Mabrey scored 19 points to lead the Hawks and Chris Santo added 18 points.

New Haven 61, SNHU 55: In West Haven, Conn., in a non-conference game, SNHU erased a 15-point halftime deficit and tied the game at 44 on a three-pointer from Mike Stys of Hooksett, but SNHU never gained the lead after that basket.
Southern New Hampshire was paced by senior C.J. Marriro, who totaled 13 points and seven rebounds. Rodney Sanders had a pair of three-pointers and finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Elijah Bonsignore added 10 points and six rebounds.
