Pair of Rochester accidents reported on Farmington Road
ROCHESTER — Police responded to two separate accidents within 15 minutes of each other on Farmington Road Sunday morning.
In the first accident, police were called to Farmington Road at the Spaulding Turnpike overpass for a report of an accident involving two vehicles. Police say a 2010 Honda Civic, driven by Suzanne E. Snyder, 52, of Rochester, was exiting off the Spaulding northbound ramp onto Farmington Road when the vehicle was struck by a 2001 Ford Windstar van, driven by Heather Fogg, 38, also of Rochester. Fogg was traveling east on Farmington Road, headed towards Rochester.
Police say a female passenger, age 14, in Snyder’s vehicle was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital by Frisbie EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Fogg was issued a summons for a traffic light violation.
At about 9:11 a.m., Rochester police, fire and Frisbie EMS personnel were called back to Farmington Road near the Walmart intersection to respond to a second two-car accident.
Police say a 2012 Ford Focus, driven by Lorraine Grassi, 51, of Rochester was traveling west on Farmington Road and turning left into the Walmart parking lot when her vehicle was struck by a 2000 Dodge Caravan, driven by Joseph A. Strout, 73, of Farmington, who was heading east on Farmington Road towards Rochester.
Both Strout and Grassi were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
