Sophomore guard Amanda Torres scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Trinity High girls' basketball team to a 45-27 victory over visiting Exeter on Saturday.
Torres scored 19 of her 23 points in the first two quarters, when the Pioneers built a 34-14 halftime lead. Trinity led 42-23 entering the fourth.
Point guard Jenny King led Exeter with 10 points. The Blue Hawks failed to score more than nine points in any quarter.
The victory raised Trinity's Division I record to 2-1. Exeter fell to 1-2.
Pinkerton 48, Alvirne 42: At Derry, the host Astros improved to 2-0 while Alvirne of Hudson fell to 1-1. Colleen Fortier had 12 points while Corina Moore, Valerie Martin, and Kayla Stacy all chipped in with 9 points each in the victory. Veronica Moceri scored 13 points for Alvirne.
Alvirne 72, Pinkerton 60: At Hudson, Sam Bonney-Liles scored 17 points to lead Alvirne (1-1), Alex Wetmore scored 15 points and Evan Hunt added 10. Pinkerton (0-2) got 27 points from Luke Rosinski and another 10 from Caleb Godin.
Manchester Memorial 5, Concord 0: At West Side Arena, Bryce Jacob had a goal and assist and Matt Fitzgerald, Bryer Bilodeau, Shane Allen (shorthanded) and Brady Sufat added single tallies. Goaltender Brandan Mackenie made 25 saves to earn the shutout. Memorial is now 3-1-1. Concord fell to 1-3-0.
Moultonborough/Inter-Lakes 3, Kearsarge 2 (OT): At Laconia, Cody Burns scored his second goal of the game 1:14 into overtime to push Moultonborough/Inter-Lakes (1-2) to victory. Dylan Sheehan had the other goal for the winning side. Will Aufranc (goal, assist) and Ben Newbern (goal) had the tallies for Kearsarge (0-2).
