NHIAA Roundup: Memorial rallies, then falls by 1

Manchester Memorial overcame an 21-point second-half deficit, but two free throws with three seconds left from Darien Perry lifted Spaulding of Rochester to a 69-68 Division I boys' basketball win Monday.
 Perry finished with 26 points for 3-1 Spaulding. Trevon Maughn led Memorial with 26 as well. Maughn scored 17 first-half points, all in the second period.

Kabongo Ngalukulondi (18 points) and Malo Roomrag (10) led Memorial’s comeback. Memorial (0-2) returns home to host Timberlane Wednesday and Alvirne Friday in a make-up game.

Girls’ basketball

Manchester Memorial 55, Spaulding 45: Angie Marazzi scored 18 points, including two 3-pointers, as Memorial (1-1) led wire to wire. Makenah Grisson added 15 points in the win. Brittnie Gentry and Emily Benway each had 15 points for Spaulding (3-1).
Londonderry 76, Winnacunnet 44: Aliza Simpson scored 19 points, Casey Evans had 18 and Brittany Roche kicked in 10 for the 2-0 Lancers. Molly Britton had 19 points for 0-1 Winnacunnet.

Postponements

Due to inclement weather on Monday night, the Alvirne at Merrimack boys’ basketball game will be played tonight. The Nashua North-Salem game has been moved to Wednesday, Jan. 15, and the Bishop Guertin at Manchester West contest is set for Thursday, Jan. 16. The Merrimack-Alvirne girls’ game will be played tonight. Campbell’s contests with Somersworth were postponed Monday and will be rescheduled at a later date.
