NASHUA - A 22-year-old Lowell, Mass. man is hospitalized in critical condition this morning after being shot in the head outside 6 Rochette Ave., police said.
Police found the man, whose name was not released, unconscious and suffering from the gunshot wound about 8:50 p.m. Thursday night after they were called about a shooting.
He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and then airlifted to Boston Medical Center where police said he remains in critical but stable condition this morning.
Lt. Denis Linehan of the Criminal Investigation Division said investigators are looking for two to three Hispanic males seen in the area just prior to and immediately after the shooting.
The shooting does not appear to be random, he said.
“It does appear this gentleman was targeted and there was some sort of association between the suspects and the victim,” Linehan said.
He said it was too early in the investigation to say whether police expect to make an arrest soon.
“I'm optimistic we'll be able to bring some closure,” Linehan said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 603-594-3500 or Nashua Crimeline at 603-589-1669.
