NHIAA Roundup: Merrimack boys top Nashua North

Merrimack’s boys’ basketball team remained undefeated with a 56-38 win over visiting Nashua North Monday night.

Merrimack (3-0) led 28-14 at the half and never looked back. Shayne Bourque had 14 points for Merrimack, Eric Gendron (12 points) and Dylan Richardson (nine points) chipped in as well.

Nashua North dropped to 2-2.
Pinkerton 65, Dover 58: In Dover, Pinkerton (3-2) kept Dover (0-5) winless thanks to 25 points from Luke Rosinski, 17 from David Faulks and 12 from Caleb Godin. Mike Wasserman led Dover with 21 points.
Winnacunnet 58, West 52: In Manchester, West (0-5) cut a seven-point deficit to two points with 50 seconds left before the Warriors (3-2) pulled away. Leading the Blue Knights were Joe Simpson and Corey Descoteaux each with 11 points. Richard Shout contributed 10 points in the loss and Zach Theriault added nine. Anthony Primavera had 23 for the Warriors. West led 26-24 at halftime.

West will host Bishop Guertin on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Inter-Lakes 53, Moultonborough 51: In a Division III-IV match-up, a potential game-tying shot in the final five seconds by junior Riley Swedberg rolled off the rim to preserve the win for the Division III Lakers (1-4) in Meredith.

Girls’ basketball

Epping 31, Raymond 28: In Raymond, Brittney Bullock led the Division IV Blue Devils (2-5) past the Division III Rams (2-4). Bullock had eight points and teammates Chloe Pelletier and Jordan Higginbottom each had six points in the win. Bullock and Higginbottom each scored four points in the final frame.

Alex Cole led the Rams with 10 points and Brittani Norris collected six points. The game was tied 19-19 after three quarters.
Pinkerton 59, Dover 33: In Derry, Pinkerton Academy ran its record to 4-0 behind Valerie Martin, who scored 14 points.

Brandi Bonneau and Colleen Fortier both chipped in nine points for the winners. Jaime Caron and Sara McLeman were strong on the boards for the Astros.

Game time change

Sunday’s boys’ basketball game between Manchester Central and Trinity at Trinity has been moved to 1 p.m.

It had been scheduled for 2 p.m.

The game is the resumption of the Dec. 18 contest that was postponed with the teams tied 13-13 with 2:13 remaining in the first quarter because of a moist floor at McHugh Gymnasium.
