Milford man, mom fined over illegal voting
CONCORD — A Milford man and his mother agreed to pay a $1,250 fine as part of a settlement into allegations he voted twice during the 2012 general election, according to a release from the state Attorney General’s Office.
Adam Kumpu voted by absentee ballot in Milford then, on Election Day, registered and voted in the city of Keene, where he was attending Keene State College, the release said. His mother, Janine, completed his absentee ballot application and signed her son’s name on the form, the release said.
“Under New Hampshire law, it is illegal for a person to vote more than once for any office or measure in any election and/or apply for a ballot in a name other than his or her own,” the release said.
