Raymond mother to plead guilty to child endangerment

BRENTWOOD — A Raymond mother accused of failing to protect her infant son from being abused will plead guilty to child endangerment charges.

Erica Moore, 20, is expected to change her plea on misdemeanor child endangerment charges in Rockingham County Superior Court on Feb. 10.

The charges are punishable by up to a year in county jail, but court documents indicate she will likely receive a suspended sentence. A judge will have to approve the terms of the plea deal.

Prosecutors say she failed to protect her infant son in December 2012 when her then-husband allegedly broke several of the baby’s bones.

Moore’s husband, Cavan, 27, is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 23 after pleading guilty to three counts of second-degree assault for breaking bones of their son. He faces up to 3½ to 7 years in state prison on each charge.

The baby, who was born Nov. 3, 2012, suffered breaks to his ankle and ribs.
