Escaped sex offender is being sought

MANCHESTER — A registered sex offender who was serving part of a federal sentence for violations of supervised release, stemming from his original conviction and sentence for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, fled a local halfway house and is being sought by the U.S. Marshals N.H. Joint Fugitive Task Force.

Brandon Scott Legere, 32, who was living at Hampshire House, a federal halfway house on Elm Street in Manchester, fled Wednesday evening after he was confronted for violating rules.

Legere is required to register as a sex offender based on a prior conviction for felonious sexual assault on a child between the ages of 13 and 16, with an age difference of more than three years.

Legere was last seen running down Elm Street toward Orange Street, wearing a white T-shirt, jeans, and predominantly white sneakers.

He is a white male, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, with short, shaved brown hair, brown eyes and a thin brown beard. He also has several tattoos, including one with the word “Loyalty” on his left forearm and “Respect” on his right forearm.
