NHIAA Sports Roundup: Belmont-Gilford skaters win

Belmont-Gilford remained undefeated in NHIAA Division III boys' ice hockey play with an 11-1 win over Manchester West at JFK Coliseum Wednesday.

Brogan Hurst (goal, two assists), Jeremiah Freeman (three assists), Will Mahoney (two goals) and Darryll Cahill (two goals) led the way for Belmont-Gilford (8-0-0).

Bedford 8, Pembroke-Campbell 0: At the Sullivan Arena on the campus of the St. Anselm College, Chris Viola led the way with two goals and one assist. Jeremy Myers, Neil Soucy, Patrick Gagliardi, Nate Boyd, Harrison Voloshin and Kevin Johnson each had one goal. Alec Lindberg turned back six shots for his second shutout win.


Central 26, Memorial 18: Pins by Justin L'Heureux at 220 pounds and Clay Legault at heavyweight led Memorial. In the 120 pound match, Central senior Dylan Wyman avenged his loss at the city meet to Devin Johnson with an 11-6 decision.

Central also received pins from Tomas Chebook (138), Gino Otero (160), senior captain Keaton Peterson (195), and a technical fall decision from senior Azalkhan Sarvalov over Carlos Miranda. Memorial had a win by pin from sophomore Nate Hall at 182.

Boys' basketball

Derryfield 67, Sunapee 62: At Manchester, Derryfield School remained unbeaten by outlasting Sunapee. The Cougars (6-0) were led Max Anderson with 20 points. Bennett Doherty added 14 points and nine assists and Sam Anderson chipped in 12.

Tuesday games

Trinity 66, Bedford 45: Carmen Giampetruzzi netted 20 points and Patrick Keefe tallied 16 to lead Trinity of Manchester to a Division I boys' basketball win against Bedford Tuesday at the McHugh Gym.
