Bail set for man accused in Nashua assault and burglary
NASHUA — Bail was set at $100,000 cash/surety for the second man arrested in connection with an assault Jan. 19 at a Temple Street apartment.
Matthew Garcia, 24, of 23 Temple St., was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of second-degree assault and burglary, police Lt. Francis Sullivan said.
Police responded Jan. 19 to an apartment at 73 Temple St., to investigate a report that three masked men assaulted a 40-year-old man, hitting him with a construction level. Garcia lives in the same building.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries the day of the assault at Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center and released.
Another man, Luis Medina, 34, of 19 Amory St., was arrested the day after the assault.
Sullivan said the investigation is continuing in an effort to identify the third person involved in the assault.
