NHIAA Sports Roundup: Late free throws pace Trinity girls
Trinity freshman Shannon Roberge was fouled while shooting a three-pointer with 20 seconds left and the Pioneers trailing by a point Friday night.
She made all three foul shots and Lizzy Meehan added a pair of free throws to seal a 51-47 win over visiting Manchester Memorial in Division I girls' basketball.
Meehan and Amanda Torres had 12 points each for Trinity and Danielle Mackey added 11. McKenna Grissom had 17 points for the Crusaders.
Trinity improved to 6-4 and Memorial fell to 6-3.
Raymond 42, Prospect 34: At Raymond, Brittni Norris led the Rams, who improved to 6-5, with 15 points. Ella Montminy had 12 points, including three 3-pointers, for Prospect Mountain, 7-7.
Manchester Central 86. Timberlane 33: At Manchester, senior Jon Martin scored 13 points in the first half to help the Little Green to a 46-17 lead at the break. Martin finished with 18 points.
Collin Duffley came off the bench to score nine points and Jared Murchison had nine rebounds. Thomas Johnston and Michael Murphy scored 10 points each for Timberlane.
Central improved to 11-0. Timberlane fell to 0-10 and had its losing streak extended to 74 games.
Merrimack 59, Salem 43: At Salem, Shayne Bourque scored 21 points and Austin Franzen 13 to pace the Tomahawks. Merrimack is 8-1 and Salem dropped to 3-5. The Tomahawks led 27-26 at the half and broke the game open with a 16-5 third period. Merrimack's Eric Gendron was in foul trouble much of the night and finished with nine points. Mike Felix and Jared Gott had 13 points each for the Blue Devils.
Bedford 74, Nashua South 45: At Bedford, the Bulldogs appeared to take out some of their frustrations from a tough season on the Purple Panthers. Bedford doubled its win total and is 2-7. Five of the Bulldog losses have been by four points or fewer. South had its win streak snapped at two games and fell to 5-3.
Windham 83, ConVal 47: At Windham, Davis Potter led five Jaguars in double figures with 14 points. Tyler Masone and David Carbonello had 13 points each, Tucker Lippold added 12 and Cole Gill 10. Jordan Moore scored 18 for ConVal.
ConVal led 26-4 after one period and 47-15 at the half. The Jaguars are 6-4 and ConVal is 1-9.
Campbell 43, Somersworth 27: At Litchfield, Zach Bergeon's 19 points paced the Cougars, who posted their sixth straight win and upped their record to 7-2. Campbell owned an 18-6 lead at the half. Sanborn is 4-6.
Coe-Brown 57, Merrimack Valley 35: At Northwood, Erik Rolser had 14 points and nine rebounds to lead the Bears, who are 6-3. Nick Rolser added eight points and Spencer Nowland had seven points and four steals. Luke Zollman had 13 rebounds and five points. Merrimack Valley fell to 3-8.
Profile 51, Littleton 39: At Littleton, Ian Baker scored 19 points to lead the Patriots, who improved to 8-2. Zach Knowlton added 16 points and Bailey Johnson 11. Owen Stone and Kuba Kubkowski had 10 points each for the Crusaders, who fell to 10-2.
