College Sports Roundup: Franklin Pierce men edge Le Moyne

Senior forward Adrianos Vourliotakis Perdikaris scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half to help lift the Franklin Pierce men's basketball team to a 72-67 win over Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Court in Syracuse, N.Y.

Senior guard Andre Blackwood came off the bench to lead Franklin Pierce in scoring with 17 points. The Ravens also received 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals from freshman guard Donte Gittens.




St. Anselm 98, AIC 47: At Springfield, Mass., Victor Joshua came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points for the Hawks, who led 41-18 at halftime. St. Anselm received 16 points from forward Chris Santo, and 13 from both forward Mike McCahey and guard Dino Mallios. The Hawks shot 55.2 percent from the field and made 10 of their 19 3-point attempts.




Eastern Connecticut 59, Plymouth State 56: At Willimantic, Conn., Petey Skevas and Uche Nwokeji each scored a team-high 14 points for Plymouth, but Eastern Connecticut took the lead for good with 65 seconds remaining and improved to 9-0 in the Little East Conference.

Manchester's Shomari Morgan, a junior guard, added 10 points for the Panthers. Nwokeji grabbed a team-high six rebounds.




Keene State 95, Southern Maine 59: At Keene, Nate Howard and Jaquel Edwards each collected a double-double to highlight Keene State's Little East Conference victory. Edwards posted career highs with 15 points and 17 rebounds. Howard had his fifth double-double of the year with 17 points, 11 boards, and a career-high seven blocks.

Women's basketball

Le Moyne 81, Franklin Pierce 63: At Syracuse, N.Y., Franklin Pierce sophomore forward Kara Charette made nine of her 10 field goal attempts and scored a team-high 26 points, but the Ravens had their three-game winning streak come to an end.




AIC 72, St. Anselm 59: At Springfield, Mass., despite a 24-point performance from guard Candance Andrews, the Hawks squandered a nine-point halftime lead and fell to 10-10 overall.




Southern Maine 56, Keene State 40: At Keene, the Owls received a team-high 12 points from Kelsey Cognetta, but it wasn't enough to upend the visiting Huskies. Freshman Stephanie D'Annolfo grabbed a game-high eight rebounds for the Owls.




Colby-Sawyer 65, UMaine-Farmington 56: At Farmington, Maine, Jessica Shenkel made four 3-pointers and finished the game with 15 points to pace the Chargers.
