Snowy forecast shifts date of Contoocook Valley meeting

PETERBOROUGH — The Contoocook Valley School District deliberative session has been moved from Wednesday to Thursday night in anticipation of a Wednesday snowstorm.

The deliberative session is now set for Thursday at ConVal Regional High School at 7 p.m.

Voters will have an opportunity to discuss and amend a warrant article, which will face a districtwide vote on March 11.

First on the agenda is the proposed $45,793,510 2014-2015 budget, which is a less than 1 percent increase over last year’s budget.

Voters also will discuss a request to spend $545,419 to resurface and upgrade the ConVal Regional High School parking lot. Part of the project would be funded by $300,000 from the school district’s building capital reserve fund, with the remaining $245,419 to come from taxation.

The warrant also asks voters to approve $265,350 to resurface and upgrade the high school track, with $185,000 coming from the Arthur N. Daniels Trust for Contoocook Valley Regional High School and the remaining $80,350 from taxation.

Another article asks to spend $150,000 to resurface and upgrade the South Meadow School exit road, with $50,000 from the building capital reserve fund and $100,000 from taxation.

Voters also will discuss a request to enter into a three-year $45,000 lease to purchase a tractor for the facilities department. The first year’s payment would be $15,000.

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
