High School Sports Roundup: Grisson, Memorial girls earn win

Makenah Grisson saved her best for the last quarter Tuesday.

Grisson scored Memorial's last six points in the game and led the Crusaders past Keene 54-50 in a Division I girls' basketball contest in Manchester. Memorial improved to 7-3 behind A. J. Akot who finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

Keene (1-9) led 50-48 before Grisson scored six of her 10 points in the final two minutes. Jenoyce Laniyan also led Memorial with 12 points followed by Angie Marazzi with 11. Memorial (7-3) plays Central next Tuesday. Londonderry 51, Nashua North 38: At Londonderry, Casey Evans tossed in 17 and Kelsey Coffey scored 11 to help the Lancers raise their Division I record to 10-1. Sarah Corvova led North with 13 points, including three 3-pointers.


Souhegan 33, Goffstown 30: At Goffstown, the game was tight the entire way, with the Sabers (10-1) hanging on to win. Rene Roggenbuck of Goffstown led all scorers with 11 points.

Boys' basketball

Pembroke 58, Lebanon 50: At Pembroke, Pat Welch scored a game-high 25 points and Kafani Williams scored 16 as Pembroke raised its Division II record to 11-1. K.J. Matte tossed in 17 for Lebanon, which dropped to 9-3.
Campbell 61, Mascenic 18: At New Ipswich, the Cougars ran out to a 21-4 first-quarter lead and cruised from there. Zach Bergeon led the Cougars with 20 points, and teammates Harrison Vedrani and Kyle Manning added 12 points each. Campbell improved to 8-2 in Division III.

Londonderry 71, Nashua North 45: In Nashua, Cody Ball scored 17 points and Max Coleman added 11 to lead the 9-2 Lancers. Caleb Green scored 10 points. Jordan Lates led Nashua North (4-7) with 15 points and Brennan Kastens added nine. Londonderry will host Exeter Thursday at 7 p.m.


Memorial 72, Keene 55: At Keene, the Crusaders led early and never looked back. Treyvon Maughm scored 34 points (26 in first half) and Kabongo Ngalakulondi added 16 points (13 in the first half) for Memorial (5-5). Keene (0-10) was led offensively by James Link with 12. Bedford 52, Concord 44: At Bedford, the Bulldogs outscored the Crimson Tide 23-10 in the fourth quarter to earn the win and improve to 3-7. Ryan Brown led Bedford with 18 points, 10 in the fourth frame. Cam Meservey and Sam Stanton added 12 each. Concord fell to 3-7. Merrimack 49, Winnacunnet 41: At Hampton, Eric Gendron netted 23 points and Shayne Bourque added 11 for 9-1 Merrimack. Gendron and Bourque combined for 13 of Merrimack's 16 fourth quarter points.


Epping 62, Moultonborough 57: At Moultonborough, Epping was able to hold off a late Moultonborough rally to hang on for the win. Epping (10-2) was led by Brett Couture with 21 points. Jake West added 19 points. Moultonborough (6-5) Riley Swedberg with 24 points. Aaron Davis added 14 with 18 rebounds. Tristan Price chipped in 10.


Windham 51, Milford 29: In Windham, David Carbonello tallied 17 points and added six assists and five steals for the 7-4 Jaguars. Tucker Lippold had 11 points. Milford falls to 1-9.


Nashua South 71, Alvirne 68: At Nashua, senior point guard Yordy Tavarez made a 3-pointer just before time expired to hand the Panthers the victory. South raised its record to 6-3. Alvirne dropped to 3-7.


Profile 58, Gorham 35: In Bethlehem, Ian Baker scored 18 points and added eight assists to lead Profile. The Patriots improved to 9-2. Profile led 24-18 at halftime before pulling away with a 16-7 run in the third quarter. Zach Knowlton had 17 points and nine rebounds and Bailey Johnson added 11 points. Chris Sirois collected eight boards for the winners. Gorham (3-5) was led by Bryson Raymond with 14 points.
Spaulding 66, Exeter 62: In Exeter, Darian Berry scored 22 points to lead Spaulding which outlasted Exeter's fourth quarter rally. Ben Swett scored 20 points and Max Medley added 13 for the Blue Hawks (5-6). Exeter is 6-5 in Division I.
