St. Anselm men blank SNHU

St. Anselm College edged in-state Northeast-10 rival Southern New Hampshire University 2-0 in men's hockey action at Sullivan Arena in Goffstown Tuesday night.

The Hawks improved to 8-9-4 and 4-0-0 in Northeast-10 play with the win. The Penmen fell to 13-7-1, 5-3 in the NE-10.

Kevin Vanous scored with 22 seconds remaining in the second period to give St. Anselm a 1-0 lead. The Hawks added an empty net goal from Mark Meads with 1:05 remaining in the third period.

St. Anselm goalie Nick Dries made 35 saves to earn the win, but could not complete the last 13 seconds of the shutout after being assessed a game misconduct penalty. Brad Rocheville came on to play the final 13 ticks.
