Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who voted for Obamacare and repeatedly assured Granite Staters that under the new law we could keep both our health insurance and our doctors, inadvertently admitted during a radio interview this week that those assertions were not true.
Asked on WKXL about the fact that thousands of Granite Staters have had their insurance or doctors changed because of Obamacare, Shaheen said she was concerned about that and has asked Health and Human Services to improve the law “so that at least for people who are willing to pay more, that they have that option of going to their doctor and hospital no matter what their insurer does.”
Remember when President Obama, Sen. Shaheen and Rep. Carol Shea-Porter were selling this law? They told us that it would protect us from the wicked insurance companies that wanted to do things like raise our premiums and deny us access to the doctors we needed. Now we know that the law has raised premiums and separated people from their doctors, and Shaheen says, well, she’ll fix that by asking HHS to let people pay more to access the doctor they used to have before Obamacare forced them to switch!
Shaheen would not even say whether she would vote for the law again if given a second chance. What a profile in courage. If Jeanne Shaheen wins re-election this year, it will be for want of a competent challenger and nothing else.
