The white-out of snow turned into a wipe-out for NHIAA hockey on Wednesday.
The entire slate of 12 boys' games and two girls' games was postponed due to Wednesday's weather.
The marquee matchup was a meeting between the top two teams in Division I, Londonderry (9-2-0) and host Salem (9-1-1). A makeup date has not been set yet.
The other Division I games were Central at Concord (rescheduled for today at 4 p.m. at Everett Arena), Trinity of Manchester at Bishop Guertin (no makeup yet), Exeter at St. Thomas of Dover (no makeup yet) and Pinkerton Academy of Derry at Bishop Brady of Concord (no makeup yet).
In Division II, Bow was scheduled to play at Winnacunnet of Hampton (no makeup yet), Spaulding of Rochester at Dover (today, time to be announced), Goffstown at Keene (no makeup yet) and Alvirne of Hudson at Somersworth/Coe-Brown (tonight, time to be announced).
In Division III, Keararge of North Sutton was set to play at Manchester West (no makeup yet), Portsmouth at Laconia/Winnisquam (to be played Feb. 25) and Souhegan of Amherst at John Stark/Hopkinton (today, time to be announced).
The two girls’ games, Exeter at Concord and ConVal of Peterboro at Hanover, were also postponed with no makeup dates announced. Games to watch: The Londonderry at Salem will be must-see hockey when the makeup date is set, but other games over the next few days are worth noting.
In a good Division I matchup today, Nashua North (7-4-0) visits JFK Coliseum at 4:30 p.m. to take on Manchester Memorial (5-3-2). The Crusaders edged North 3-2 in a previous meeting a month ago.
Today at 2:25 at Laconia Ice Arena, the two Division III top dogs will meet when Berlin (9-1-0) visits Belmont-Gilford (10-1-0).
On Monday, Bow (8-2-0) will play at Division II leader (and two-time state champion) Bedford (11-0-0) at 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan Arena at St. Anselm College. Bedford won 4-2 in a January meeting, the closest margin of victory for the Bulldogs all season. Heroes in Pink: St. Thomas held its fifth annual “Pink Game” last Saturday, raising money for breast cancer awareness.
One week from today at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas, Kerry Sachs from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute will be presented with the funds raised from the game. The school raised more than $11,500. The hockey team will be present (sporting their pink jerseys), along with school administrators, coaches and parent volunteers.
