NHIAA Roundup: West, Bedford squeak by


Alfred Nyonne had 19 points and Keenan Caron scored 17 as Manchester West beat Dover 72-69 in boys’ basketball on Friday night in Dover.

Corey Descoteaux came up with two steals in the final minute, including one that prevented Dover from getting off a potential tying shot before the buzzer. Richard Shout added 14 points as West (3-8) won its second straight. Anthony Lupi scored 23 and Mike Wasserman added 10 points for Dover (2-10).







Bedford 49, Salem 43: At Salem, Sam Bedford scored 14 and Bedford rallied in the fourth quarter to win on the road. Cam Meservey added 10 points for Bedford (4-7), which trailed 38-31 after the third quarter. Michael Felix and Tim Dodier scored 13 apiece for Salem (3-7).







Profile 49, Woodsville 32: At Bethlehem, Zach Knowlton scored 10 points and Profile (10-2) held Woodsville to two field goals in the second half. Eric Tholl pulled down nine rebounds and Hunter Leighton had eight as the Patriots outrebounded the Engineers 30-24. Joe Abrahamsen scored 11 to lead Woodsville (8-3).







Merrimack 60, Pinkerton 41: At Merrimack, Eric Gendron had 20 points and Shayne Bourque scored 15 for the Tomahawks. Zach Kerr added 11 points for Merrimack (10-1), which pulled away early and was leading 18-6 by the end of the first quarter and had nine players score at least a point. David Faulks had nine points for the Astros (6-5) in their third straight loss.







Campbell 55, Somersworth 21: At Litchfield, Campbell limited Somersworth to two points in the first quarter and two in the fourth and extended its winning streak to eight games. Zach Bergeon scored a game-high 17 points for the Cougars, who improved to 9-2 in Division III. Harrison Vedrani added 14 for Campbell. Somersworth dropped to 4-9.

Girls’ basketball

Pinkerton 61, Merrimack 31: At Derry, Pinkerton scored 44 points in the second half and raised its Division I record to 11-1. Kayla Stacy scored a game-high 16 points for the Astros, who received a nine-point performance from Colleen Fortier.







Londonderry 66, Exeter 39: At Exeter, forward Tara Burke tossed in a season-high 21 points to help the Lancers raise their Division I record to 11-1. Casey Evans added 10 for Londonderry. Alex Peucker led Exeter (3-10) with 15.







Milford 55, John Stark 13: At Weare, Rebecca Cleary scored 15, Adelle Pitsas finished with 14 Jess Ryan had 11 points for Milford (11-1). The Spartans shut out John Stark in the first quarter and led 19-2 at halftime. Nicole Beeso led John Stark (1-10) with four points.







Goffstown 56, Hollis-Brookline 47: At Goffstown, Katie Howe scored 16 and Cassidy Lalumiere added 12 points for the Grizzlies (7-6). Bri Hackett scored 25 to lead Hollis/Brooline (5-7).







Derryfield 42, Concord Christian 30: At Manchester, Hannah Comoeau scored 16 and Frankie DeIeso-Freschette finished with nine points for Derryfield (9-6), which led 39-14 going into the fourth quarter.

Kendra Jarvis scored 13 points to lead Concord Christian (2-13).
