Monarchs can't catch Providence

In the end, however, the Monarchs weren't able to reel in the Bruins as Manchester fell, 3-2.
With the win, Providence improves to 25-18-1-6 (57 points) good for third place in the Atlantic Division.
Providence grabbed the lead late in the first period Saturday night on a Matt Fraser goal, assisted by Ryan Spooner and Ben Youds.
The Monarchs answered Moore's goal with one of their own as Linden Vey notched his 10th tally of the season to make it 3-2 at 6:27 of the third period. Vey's power-play goal was assisted by Deslauriers and Tyler Toffoli.
The Monarchs outshot the Bruins 16-7 in the third period.
The Monarchs return to action today with a 3 p.m. home game against Albany.
