NHIAA Roundup: Bickford’s 27 points lift Salem girls

Amanda Bickford netted 27 points to lead Salem past Memorial 62-51 in a Division I girls’ basketball contest Monday in Manchester. Both teams are 7-4. Memorial trailed 48-26 after three quarters, but cut its deficit to six points late in the game. Bickford scored 10 fourth period points to thwart Memorial’s comeback bid.

Angie Marazzi led Memorial with 22 points and MaKenah Grisson, plagued with foul trouble in the first half, scored 12 of her 15 points in the last quarter for the Crusaders. Memorial travels across the city to play rival Central (6-6) today at 5 p.m., followed by the Memorial-Central boys’ varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

Boys’ basketball

Campbell 64, Raymond 46: In Raymond, Campbell led 30-13 at halftime and never looked back. Leading scorers for the 10-2 Cougars were Zach Bergeon (16 points), Harrison Vedrani (16 points) and Andrew Smarse (11 points). Campbell will host Bow today at 7 p.m.

Boys’ hockey

Londonderry 7, Nashua South 2: At Conway Arena, Curtis Harper registered his second straight three-goal game to lead the 11-2 Lancers. Brett Evangelista, Nick Donnelly, Lucas Poulin and Alex LaPlante each scored a goal. Londonderry goalie Mitchell Schirch turned back eight shots. Londonderry announced it has scheduled a make-up game with Salem at the ICEnter on Saturday, March 1 at 8 p.m.
