Rivier University taps new vice president

NASHUA — An associate provost from a New York college has been named the new vice president for academic affairs at Rivier University, the university said Monday.

Rivier touted the 20-plus years of experience of Deborah Vess, the associate provost for undergraduate studies at City University of New York-College of Staten Island.

She will lead all academic programming in the five divisions of Rivier and oversee academic services.

"Dr. Vess comes to us as a very experienced academician with broad expertise in the liberal arts, faculty development and research, accreditation and assessment, international initiatives, and program development," said Rivier president Sister Paula Marie Buley.
